Description
Ever have that annoying extrovert friend who just loves to find you and start a chat whenever? Well, Benly is just that kind of guy, lol.
Just uploading a few rough sketches to show I am still breathing. Still alive. 2017 was the year I got back into writing about my characters. Unfortunately since I hadn't written since like 2011, my rough drafts aren't anything worth sharing yet, but someday...I dream of having finished works with my bug folk, even if it takes me like 20+ years to get something worth reading. I understand the handwritten"text" is hard to read so here's a rough transcript below. (Since this is nothing more than a rough sketch it will be moved to my scraps eventually.)

Benly: Greetings Jeff!
Jeff: Hi Benly.
Benly: Whatcha up to?
Jeff: Reading.
Panel #3:
Benly: Whatcha readin'?
Jeff: ...romance...
Benly: Romance? You mean Royal stuff?
Jeff: ...yeah...
Panel #4:
Benly: You know we die when we-
Jeff: Shut up!
Benly: I'm just sayin'
Jeff: you're annoying...
Benly: Thanks. You know on the battlefield Capt. Bret fired his catapults at two praying mantis' doin' it?
Jeff: ...
Benly: Hey we saved that poor guy's life!
Jeff: I'm sure he felt grateful for your help...
Benly: We do what we can. Better to live another day right?
Jeff...
Benly: I'm sure he got over it, found a better mate to die a noble death for than the one we shot.
Jeff: You have a sick mind, Benly!

Benly: Says the nursery teacher who reads stuff like: "...and he climbed onto her slender wasp-like thorax and inserted-"

Jeff: *takes book and thacks Benly's head with it*
Additional:
Benly: *Grabs book* Let's see if there's a visual somewhere in this book! *starts turning pages*
Jeff: *attempts to grab book out of Benly's hands*
Benly: *Finds drawing of mating couple.* "Ooh there it is!"
Jeff: *Yanks book out of Benly's hands*
Benly: You better not leave this on the playground.
Jeff: ... Don't you have somewhere better to go? Some soldiers to yell at?
Benly: Come on let's find a bite to eat. The sunflowers are in bloom. How about some nectar?
Jeff: Okay, sure.
This is my first attempt at making something remotely resembling a comic.
Media: numerous single use stubby #2 pencils, half 8x10 sheet and a relatively slow work day with little to do.
